Holidays:
Here we are again. The day has arrived. The kids are excited beyond words and the parents are relieved that another season of shopping is over. Family and friends will gather and enjoy the holiday over food and drinks. Many kids will get in a bike ride on a shiny new steed today. Do yourself a favor and look at Christmas through the eyes of the kids. The joy and excitement they exude is an inspiration. Regardless of the challenges of adult life that the we deal with the kids feel this holiday different. Waiting a whole year for presents to pile up around the tree seems to take forever when you’re age is a single digit. Now it’s here again and as so called adults we say "Wow, that was fast." Take in the day and let the joy take over, pile on extra food on your plate if you can, enjoy it all. This holiday is different for us all this year and hopefully the merriment carries over to tomorrow and beyond.
The End
The calendar is winding down on another year. It’s been a challenge for many people all around the world. Looking towards 2024 I feel an optimism and sense of transformation is on the horizon. Economic turmoil and nonstop political strife takes a toll on the psyche and wears you down. Financial adjustments have been needed by many however overall spending is up for the holidays. The change that is needed will come from within. As Americans we will persevere and get through the difficulty. There will be discomfort and profound hardship for a minority, that’s unfortunate, but the system is what it is. Together we will be fine. As long as we stay focused and work on what really matters we can power through any challenge. The calendar is just a tool for tracking days, the universe doesn’t care what year it is so plan your year wisely and get in as many bike rides as you can. Our opportunities for riding freely and in group events are growing year by year for every discipline of cycling. Let’s make 2024 the year of the bike. We deserve it. Have a great day and here’s to 2024. Pedal strong and pedal often my friends.
