For Real:

For Real: Every community has a center and a deep pulse that’s driven by small businesses that showcase the character, resilience, and identity of the people that run them. Embracing and supporting these enterprises is not merely a transaction; it's an investment in the very fabric of our neighborhoods, fostering economic vitality, community bonds, and a vibrant tapestry that reflects our shared values.
Let’s jump right into it. The bike industry is in deep trouble. There have been signs of problems for a while and they are now here, at the surface, taking a toll on all of us. Layoffs are happening and I think it’s only a matter of time before some big brands are sold or taken down by the post-pandemic financial times we’re in. The reasons for the struggles are myriad and I don’t have the space or platform to detail all of the issues here today. But, I will say that consumer sentiment has all of us in the bike space concerned. No matter how hard we try to get people into the shop it’s just not working like it needs to. We are selling some high-end bikes to customers that have the means to afford the purchase but overall the sales are not there. Service and tuneups are the big drivers that keep bike shops open. We do our best to keep turnover times low so people can get back to riding as soon as possible. We go the extra mile offering personalized service and genuinely care about everyone that walks in the door. With that out in the open it’s time to ask you, where ever you are, to go support your local bike shop. Every purchase matters. There are big companies pushing low prices and free shipping which cut into our ability to survive. Margins are tight but we’re always willing to do what is necessary to make a sale. Real people own small businesses and put it all on the line for their families and employees. So, please bring in your bike for a refresh and we’ll take care of you without a doubt. If you don’t need any service but you’re looking for a new helmet or gloves come on in, we’ll hook you up!

Peace,
Paul
